A carpet quote should cover the carpet, the pad and the fitting. Share your plans with Raleigh Flooring Contractors HQ.
Tell us which bedrooms, living spaces or stairs you want to change and what needs to be removed.
Compare carpet and padding together
Fiber, texture and construction affect how carpet feels and wears. Ask for options that suit the traffic in your rooms, especially if you have pets, children or busy stairs.
Padding changes the feel underfoot and must meet the carpet requirements. A softer or thicker pad is not automatically the best choice for every room or warranty.
Ask how the room will be stretched
Proper stretching matters to the finished result. Ask whether the installation will use a power stretcher where required, rather than relying on a knee kicker alone.
Discuss seam positions before installation. Doorways, room dimensions and the chosen carpet affect where seams can be placed and how visible they may be.
Stairs and landings deserve their own scope. The fitting details and extra labor may differ from a simple square bedroom.
Make room for the work
Check whether removal, disposal, furniture moving and replacing trim are included. Agree on who handles fragile items, electronics and heavy furniture before the installation day.
If old carpet reveals a soft or damp area, the underlying cause needs attention. New padding should not be used to hide a subfloor problem.
Does a carpet quote include stairs?
Not always. Give the contractor the stair and landing details, then ask for those items to appear in writing alongside carpet, padding, fitting and disposal.
